Have you just signed up to a new Business Directory and need to write up some content for your advert? Then this article is for you, I am going to write about a few tips and pointers at how to write a successful company description for your advert.
Being Unique
No matter what directory you sign up for it is extremely important that the description you write is Unique, this is probably the single most important point you need to take in. Business Directories are often powerful enough to get your advert on to a search engine (we will use Google as an example), however if the description you write already exists elsewhere (like on your own website or another advert) then your advert will not be picked up by the search engines. This is called duplicate content and is heavily frowned upon; not only will your new advert not work but the place where the content already exists will receive negative effects.
Layout
Business to Business adverts need to get straight to the point, it is no good writing about the history of your company at the top of the listing, you need the beginning to clearly state what you supply and what services you offer. Add some pictures in (if allowed)... a picture tells a thousand words. Of course write about the company history but leave that until a bit further down your listing.
